How Dance Journeys started

Around Summer Solstice 2003, 'Dance Journeys' literally dreamt themselves into being. As with all creative projects, they are a collaborative enterprise; initiated by Sarah Partridge, inspired by an idea floated by Nyali Muir, these Quests are co-created and led by Peta Jane, Sarah and other guest teachers. They offer you the opportunity to dance your socks off, wake up the wisdom of the body and celebrate all of who you are! Unless stated otherwise all of the quests listed below were held at Sanctuary in rural Suffolk, UK.

Samhain 2003 An overnight quest - 8pm Friday 31st October - 9am Saturday 1st November

Winter Solstice 2003 Overnight - 8pm Friday 12th - 9am Saturday 13th December 'Through the medium of dance, we will explore and journey into the realm of Spirit - connecting deeply with who we are - releasing limitations - remembering and embracing our Divine Nature - questing for that which is needed in our lives - right here and now - as we enter Winter.

The invitation during this Winter Solstice Dance Journey is to dance the gift of all that you are - to bring Love and Appreciation to your whole body. It will include a Shamanic Healing Dance, Free Dance, as well as time for creative activities, meditation, dreaming and a special breakfast.'

Imbolc 2004 Overnight - 8pm Friday 6th - 9am Saturday 7th February 'The invitation during this Imbolc Dance Journey is to dance the creativity inherent in you physical body - bringing new direction and flexibility to your life. It will include a New Beginnings ritual, free dance, as well as time for creative activities, meditation and a special breakfast.'

Spring Equinox 2004 Overnight - 8pm Friday 19th - 9pm Saturday 20th March

Beltane 2004 Overnight 8pm Friday 30th April - 9am Saturday 1st May 'Free dance - to balance your feminine and masculine energies. Guidance to encourage, inspire and ignite your body to be more and more physically present in your dance - every part of you moving, quivering with potential, dancing deeper into yourself, gaining greater insight into, and moving beyond the blockages that stop you being fully alive - here - now!'
